Lambes Family Vacation 2013: Georgia

In the middle of May, we embarked on our 2013 Lambes family vacation! This time we explored the Mountains of Georgia. We stayed in a villa in Ellijay, GA with the whole family. We had a really great time and did a TON while we were there!  Here are some highlights...

I went white water rafting for the first time! It was definitely kind of scary, but mostly really fun! It was cold and rainy that day, but it didn't matter... I'm sure you'll figure out why.

Yeah, that's why the rain didn't matter.  We all went underwater many times, and Nathan actually got ejected from the boat and had to be rescued by some other rafters. He didn't get hurt or anything and wasn't even scared! Looked pretty scary to me!

Ziplineing! It was a good course, and some of the lines were really fast!

This line just about touched the ground! One of our guides even dragged a bit... Thankful none of us got stuck! It was a lot of fun.

Jon and Emiley wanted to take Ellie horseback riding, so Nathan, Allie, and I went along. This was only my second time riding... it's a good thing the horses just plod along for the most part, because I have no idea what I'm doing.

We went on a hike to see a really beautiful waterfall... I would tell you the name if I knew it... but I don't. Anyway, it was beautiful! We hiked about 1000ish steps that day- our legs were literally shaking when we were done! 

Nathan isn't in this picture because he hit his shin on a rock and got a major bruise! Thankfully, he caught up and enjoyed the rest of the day with us.

Maybe you can't tell from this picture, but it was a HUGE, really beautiful waterfall.

So... Orion had a little misadventure. He's been potty trained for over 6 months and very, very rarely has accidents. But on our vacation I wasn't very good about getting him to sit on the potty regularly and we paid for it.  He wanted to pee in the river (which is his right as a little boy), and as he was doing so he started pooping! So we had quite a mess to clean up... He got a very COLD bath in the river, as did his clothes. Thankfully, his shirt stayed clean, but he had to wear one of Desy's extra diapers for the rest of the excursion. Ha!
