5 years and counting

Nathan and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary on June 16!  It's yet another one of those things that both feels like forever ago and a moment ago at the same time.  I'm happy to say that we are still best friends and still like holding hands and sitting together on the couch.  I'm so thankful to have such a loving, godly husband who respects me and loves our children.

...that's enough mushy stuff. Sorry. :P

On Friday night we went out to dinner and did some running around.  While we were out, we happened across an airplane show at the Middletown Airport and decided to stop by.  It was really cool to see all the old Aeronca planes.  Apparently they were all made in Middletown  from 1928 to 1951, both for civilians and for the military during WWII, so many of the Aeronca owners return to the planes' "birthplace" for a reunion every couple years.  We decided we need to buy a little plane like this so we can get around to visit family and friends faster!

On Saturday we took the boys out for lunch at a little place in West Alexandria called Buckeye Jake's.  It was inside a big old house downtown. We were the only customers at the time which was kind of nice!  The food was great- we'd love to go back sometime :)

Next we went to Heaven's Corner Zoo & Animal Sanctuary.  Most of the animals there are rescued, either from people who were keeping them as "pets," or from other circumstances. It was fun! It's a really small zoo, but you get to see the animals up close!  Most of them were very active too.  The boys also got in free which was nice :)

This was Orion's favorite part.  He got to feed this bear corn through a tube.  He thought it was so fun!  We also got to watch them feed the crocodiles.

Notice how the leopard is thinking about eating my delicious children.

We had a really nice day out together!

Posts in progress about the cruise and other stuff.

I have heard so many good things about Heaven's Corner. My parents took my boys, but Nick and I didn't go. We'd love to go sometime. It's on our "Summer Bucket List!"

Happy Anniversary! Your dress was so beautiful.
