Desmond - 2 years old!

 Desy Doodle Bug turned two on June 30!  He's not a baby any more... he's really a little boy now!

We've had a few torrential downpours lately, and the boys have had a great time playing in the flooded yard and the massive puddles in the church parking lot. Desmond has no fear of water, which is really nice, but we have to watch him very closely at the pool!

We also had some HOT weather during the last couple weeks, so we took the boys to the creek one day! They loved it!

What he's up to:
-Desy is talking in phrases! Things like "come on, Orion" or "drink please" or "in the car."
-Thanks to our trampoline, Des has learned to jump.
-He loves to wrestle and will charge you like a bull with abandon! He's pretty rough.
-Des is a snuggle bug and is usually generous with hugs and kisses. He'll even hug his brother!
-I think he's ready to learn his colors and shapes, so I'm going to try to work with him on those things this week.
-He naps every day from about 2:15-4:30ish.
-Desmond wants to do whatever Orion is doing! Monkey see, monkey do.

Favorites:
Food: Anything! Des is my good eater... there's almost nothing he doesn't eat. He'll even eat salad with dressing! Of course he loves things like chips, crackers, and cookies the best.
TV/Movie: He's been having a lot of fun watching the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with his daddy lately. He also likes Mister Rogers, Boz, Nemo, and Tangled, but he's not picky.
Toy: His seahorse. He loves any animal, stuffed or plastic. Also cars, balls, stickers, bubbles, the cat (poor Bill...).
Book: Go Dog Go, Little Blue Truck, anything with moving flaps/sliders.
Songs: The first two songs on the Sanctus Real album "Run," songs from Boz, songs from Story time.

We had a little birthday party for Desy while Allie was visiting for the weekend. We had a great time just celebrating with family.

So yes, he's still a teeny little thing, but he's built so solidly that he doesn't seem that small to me. But... he is ;) You'd never guess he's such a good eater!

Desmond went through such a difficult time a few months ago when he was grumpy all. the. time. and learned his nickname, "The Hulk," but he has become a very happy little boy! He is still incredibly stubborn and will through a fit if he doesn't get his way, but at least that's not the norm now! He's really a lot of fun, SUCH a sweetie, and a big joy in our lives. I love you, Doodle Bug!
