Cecelia: 8 months old

Cece baby is eight months old this week! That one year mark is creeping up on us already!?

Cecelia (and the boys and I) had a nasty cold a couple weeks ago, so she was pretty miserable for a while and her sleep schedule got messed up. We worked on sleep training a lot at the beginning of the month, and (besides the sick week) it has gone well! She goes down for naps and (especially) bed time without crying for the most part, which is a big improvement from having to force her to sleep every time. She still gets up a couple/few times a night, so hopefully we can move toward just one nighttime feeding soon, and then zero within the next few months. She has graduated from swaddling to sleep sacks (wearable blankets) and loves her new seahorse! She usually rolls over and holds/strokes it when she lays down at night :)

She generally goes to bed around 7:00 pm and gets up for the day around 8:00 am, but she's not on a strict schedule.

She has been doing pretty well at sitting up this last week or two! I'm pretty excited about it :) She still falls over quite a bit, but not in a way that she gets hurt or scared the majority of the time. She's getting it figured out! She usually ends up rolling around on the floor, but as long as she's entertained for a while I'm happy!

Cece got her first tooth! I believe it poked through on January 18. She was definitely in pain for a while before it came it, so that plus the cold was just terrible!! I'm not looking forward to the others coming in, for her sake. I don't have a picture of it, but it's her bottom left front tooth. It looks "bigger" every day.

She loves looking out the window and touching the cold glass. It makes her really happy!

Cece generally eats two meals (solids) a day, but it varies. Today she ate breakfast but no dinner because we were out, and she often doesn't do breakfast. She loves eating, though! She's been eating about two jars at dinner time! She likes every vegetable and fruit except peas so far, and she'll eat them if they're mixed with something else. She does NOT like meat baby food (who can blame her?), probably because of the texture. I'm not pushing it.

I have no idea how much she weighs or how tall she is... she's definitely growing, but there's no doubt that she's a peanut! We're enjoying her much reduced grumpiness now that she's healthy! She was very "talkative" today, and I LOVE her smiles. I'm excited for her to start crawling so she can happily explore! This girl is definitely a challenge sometimes, but we love her like crazy. What a sweet blessing!
